Homepage of Jan-Wim Wesselius

"Welcome... ... to my homepage! As ever, the page is still under construction, and I expect to change it frequently in the near future. Jan-Wim Wesselius * 23 April 2006: (1) My article about the literary use of divine names in Genesis has appeared and the preliminary version has been removed. (2) A reference to the review of my Origin of the History of Israel by Patrick Madigan was added. * 24 June 2006: My article "From Stumbling Blocks to Cornerstones: The Function of Problematic Episodes in the Primary History and in Ezra-Nehemiah", in: Riemer Roukema, Bert Jan Lietaert Peerbolte, Klaas Spronk, and Jan-Wim Wesselius (eds.), The Interpretation of Exodus: Studies in Honour of Cornelis Houtman (Leuven: Peeters, 2006), p. 37-63, has appeared. I think the issues discussed in it are fundamental for our understanding of the literary nature of the Hebrew Bible. Please contact me if you want offprints of the articles."
